Tirupati, located in the Chittoor region of Andhra Pradesh, is one of India’s most renowned pilgrimage destinations. Tirupati, one of India’s oldest cities and the location of numerous ancient temples and monuments, is a treasure trove of historical landmarks. Chilkur Balaji Temple. Chilkur Balaji, also called Visa Balaji is a temple located 25 km from Hyderabad. One of the most dominant temples in Telangana, the place of worship has many stories associated with it. Tirupati is one of the most ancient and sacred pilgrimage sites in India. Tirumala, the home of Lord Venkateswara is at a distance of 22 km from Tirupati. However, Tirupati is the town and transport hub to Tirumala at the bottom of the hill. The initial temple at Tirumala was built by the Tamil king Thondaimaan.

Highlights

The reserve is known for its breath taking scenic beauty. Situated in the deciduous Nallamala forests, the mystifying landscape of the lofty hills and echoing valleys, exciting winding roads, perennial rivers, is this most charismatic world of the wild cats. The Tirupati Balaji temple is rightly called the Bhuloka Vaikuntam – the abode of Vishnu on earth. Thus, it is believed that Lord Vishnu has manifested Himself in this temple during this Kali age to guide and direct His devotees towards salvation. Vijayawada is considered to be a sacred place due to it being home to one of the most visited and famous temples in Andhra Pradesh and India, the Kanaka Durga Temple of the Hindu Goddess Durga residing on the Indrakeeladri hill.


Day 1: Arrive Hyderabad

Arrive Hyderabad Airport/Railway station, get transferred to hotel. Check in at the hotel and rest for some time. The rest of the day is free at leisure. During your free time, you can go out to explore the nearby attractions or walk down the streets, enjoy street food and speak to locals. Overnight in Hyderabad.

Day 2: Hyderabad

After breakfast in the morning, proceed to visit the famous architectural heritage sites of Hyderabad. Royal Tombs of the Qutb Shahi Kings and the magnificent Golkonda Fort also known as Golconda or Golla konda. This fort is the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and is located 11 kms of Hyderabad. Nizams Museums, which is located in Hyderabad at Purani Haveli. It is a palace of the former Nizams and showcases the gifts that the last Nizam of Hyderabad state, Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII received on his silver jubilee celebrations. Afterwards, we will head towards Birla Temple, a Hindu temple that is built on a 280 feet high hillock called Naubath Pahad. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Hyderabad.

Day 3: Hyderabad

Post early breakfast proceed to visit 'One Man Collection' - Salarjung Museum. This national museum comprise of a wide collection of ceramics, metallic artifacts, paintings, manuscripts, carpets, carvings, textiles and clocks. Also, visitors can witness a vast collection of furniture from various countries across the globe including North America, Persia, Egypt, Europe, Japan, Burma and many others. Later visit Charminar, well known as The Arc de Triomphe of the east. It is the second biggest Mosque of India. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Hyderabad.

Day 4: Hyderabad - Warangal (150kms / 3 hrs)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed for Warangal by road. On the way, stop to visit Pembarti Village for its carpet weaving center, Brass making, and Kulpakji (Kolanupaka) for the 2000 years Jain Temple. Arrive Warangal and check in to hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. During your free time you can either rest in the room or go out for exploring the major tourist attractions of the place. Enjoy dinner followed by an overnight stay in the hotel. Overnight in Waranagal.

Day 5: Warangal - Vijayawada (250 kms / 6 hrs)

Post breakfast checkout and proceed to Vijayawada. Enroute visit the Ramappa Temple, the 1000 Pillar Temple. One can witness sculpted figures that are inspired from Hindu mythology drawn on the wall panels, pillars and ceiling. We will also visit the mud-brick forts that are ruins today. Arrive Vijaywada, check in to hotel and evening at Leisure. Overnight in Vijaywada.

Day 6: Vijayawada

After breakfast enjoy tour to Kondapali Village. Once can explore the unique wooden toys in the village and spend a wonderful time. Later visit Kanaka Durga Temple, an ancient living temple with inscriptions of different dynasties. Visit a finest testimonial of ancient Vishwakarma Sthapathis, Undavalli Caves. Evening at Leisure. Overnight in Vijaywada.

Day 7: Vijayawada - Nagarjuna Sagar (170kms / 3.5 hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel in Vijayawada and proceed for Nagarjuna Sagar by road. Arrive, check in at hotel and later visit the Nagarjuna Konda and Anupu - the Amphitheatre. Nagarjunakonda is a historical Buddhist town now an island situated near Nagarjuna Sagar in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. Evening at Leisure. Overnight in Nagarjuna Sagar.

Day 8: Nagarjuna Sagar - Srisailam (180kms / 4 hrs)

Post breakfast check out from the hotel in Nagarjuna Sagar and leave by raod for Srisailam. On reaching, check in at hotel and relax for some time. Later in the evening, Visit Mallikarjuna Temple. The temple is one of the twelve Jyotir Lingam temples of India and is situated in the Jungles of Nallamala. Evening at Leisure. Overnight in Srisailam.

Day 9: Srisailam - Kurnool (180kms / 4 hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel in Srisailam and drive to Kurnool. After check in at hotel, later in the afternoon visit the magnificent 7th century Chalukyan Nava Bramha temples. Located at Alampur in Telangana, there are a total of nine temples in Alampur and all of them are devoted to Lord Shiva. Also visit the wonderful museum at Alampur. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Kurnool.

Day 10: Kurnool - Puttaparthy (240 kms / 6 hrs)

Checkout from Kurnool and proceed to Puttaparthy (Puttaparthi). Check in at hotel and later in the afternoon visit Vijayanagar temple and the great Nandi at Lepakshi temple. Constructed in the 16th century, the Lepakshi Temple is a brilliant example of the Vijayanagar style of architecture. Visit the impressive Fort ruins at Penugonda. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Puttaparthy.

Day 11: Puttarpathy

Head for full day excursion to Puttaparthy Prasanthi Nilayam, the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Established 40 years ago, the ashram offer a soothing ambience that offer peace to the soul and mind of the visitors. Attend the early morning prayers in the ashram and later explore the attractions of the ashram. If interested can also attend evening prayers and afterwards return to the hotel. Overnight in Puttaparthy.

Day 12: Puttaparthy - Tirupathi (or Tirupati), 230 km

Checkout and proceed for Tirupati for a full day excursion . Start the day tour by paying a visit to the Govindaraja temple. It is one of the substantial sub temples associated with Sri Venkateswara Swamy Tirupati dedicated to Lord Govindaraja who is believed to be the elder brother of Lord Balaji. Later head towards Padmavati temple, the most prominent shrine of Padmavathi or Alamelumanga who is believed to be the consort of Lord Venkateswara. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Tirupati.

Day 13: Tirupathi - Chennai (185 kms / 5 hrs)

After breakfast checkout and proceed to Chennai airport/railway station to board the flight/train for onward journey.
