This Best of Brazil tour combines the metropolis Rio de Janeiro with the amazing waterfalls of Iguassú, the flora and fauna of the Brazilian Amazon and Salvador da Bahia, one of the most fascinating cities bounded by the ocean to the East and by All Saints Bay to the South. The Amazon is an incredibly unique place. It is the world’s largest rain forest and river system, and the most biologically diverse place on Earth. It contains millions of species, most of them still undescribed. Both the Amazon’s forest and freshwater systems are at risk.
Arrival at Rio de Janeiro, without doubt one of the world’s most spectacular metropolises. Stretched between forested mountains and the sparkling Atlantic, it is a city of long golden beaches and an exuberant cultural life.
Full day city tour including scenic drive to the bottom of Corcovado Hill and at top of the Sugar Loaf mountain with amazing views over the city.
Day at leisure. On optional basis you may visit Petropolis, the summer residence of former Emperor Pedro II or the Olympic Boulevard including Museum of Tomorrow & Rio Art Museum or enjoy a typical Samba Show at night, featuring skilled dancers, entertainers, samba bands and wonderful costumes.
Flight to Iguassú. Later on you will visit the Brazilian side of the falls. Walking along the paths following cascades you will reach the catwalk that leads very close to the bottom of the Devil’s Throat to enjoy magnificent views. Take an elevator to go up and return to your hotel.
Half day visit to Iguassu National Park (Argentina), including the Devil’s Throat with the highest continuous fall. Wonderful sights include rainbows straddling clouds of spray, screeching green parrots flying across the waters and colourful butterflies hovering over lush greenery.
Optional visit to the Bird Park, if time allows. Flight to Manaus and time for leisure. On optional basis you may book an Ecological tour with focus on fauna & flora.
Transfer to the pier to start your 3 days/2 nights Amazon Ecopark Lodge experience, located at Rio Tarumã, in the middle of the Amazon Forest. Overnight in bungalows made of wood including full board. Explore the variety of the flora and fauna of the Amazon region during various excursions on foot or with a canoe.
Boat excursion down the Negro River navigating along the shore of Manaus, to witness the Meeting of the Waters, a spectacular merge of Negro and Solimões Rivers.
After breakfast transfer back to Manaus. During a panoramic city tour you will see the main sights of Manaus including a photo stop at the Opera House.
Flight to Salvador da Bahia. Brazil´s capital of happiness is famous for its cuisine, music and architecture, very much influenced by the afro-Brazilian culture.
Enjoy a half day historical city tour through the beautiful colonial centre of Salvador, UNESCO heritage, combined with lunch, tasting atypical Bahian meal. On optional basis you may get to know a typical Bahian show with dinner in the evening.
