Sasan Gir, this wildlife sanctuary is known the world over for not only being one of the few known habitats of the Asiatic lion but also for the efforts taken here to prevent this majestic species from getting extinct. This is the only place on the planet, besides Africa, where you can spot this species. Speckled with gorgeous palaces, grand monuments and historical temples, the ancient city of Vadodara (earlier Baroda) is stretched along the banks of the Vishwamitri river. Bhavnagar as the city is home to the classiest and oldest Barton Library, Barton Museum and Gandhi Smriti, a significant Gandhian institution founded in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi in January 1948.
