South Korea boasts abundant tourist attractions. Tourists can experience distinctive harmony between historical cultural heritage and modern culture. With these preserved local identities, tourists can also explore and enjoy local cultures, natural environments, and unique food. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its architecture typical of the Joseon dynasty. Also worth seeing is the Jongmyo Shrine, the oldest Confucian shrine, the Gyeongbokgung Royal Palace, the National Museum or the Jogyesa, Jingwansa (more info here) and Bongeunsa temples.

Highlights

Busan is the largest port city of South Korea and features gorgeous beaches, lush green nature reserves, serene hot springs, and a lot more. The city also hosts the famous international film festival every year. The island is known for its unique cuisine, most notably the local seafood caught by Jeju's famous female deep-sea divers (haenyeo), all of whom are aged 60 and over. Jeju's beaches are perfectly suited for some coastal relaxation, its idyllic waters cloaking vivid seascapes of coral. Perhaps what most separates Seoul from other Asian cities is its blend of old and new, of modern skyscrapers and charming classical UNESCO buildings and settlements, and its world-famous cuisine.
