More than 4000 architectural and archaeological monuments are located in the territory of Uzbekistan, and four of them are listed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Many of its historical sites go back in time. Samarkand and Tashkent – are both of the main ten cities of the “ancient and forever young land” of Movaraunnahr (The country between two rivers). From ancient times, these cities were a part of large state entities and significant places of trade along The Great Silk Road. Therefore, these cities quickly became development spots for science and culture, various arts and crafts, and high-level town planning.


Day 1: Tashkent Arrival

When arriving in Tashkent, you will check in at the hotel. free time or leisure.

Day 2: Samarkand

At 8:00 am meet with your guide at the lobby of the hotel. Transfer To Samarkand in the car. (4 hours). On the way, you will have the opportunity to see the beautiful scenery of the Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions. Lunch in Samarkand. Afrasiyab museum. The most important museum of Samarkand is the Museum of Afrasiab, located directly in the center of the ancient settlement of Afrasiab. Here are collected artifacts found during excavations of the city, including the famous frescos from the palace of Varhuman (650/655 - 690 years). The museum, although small, but very important - everyone who is interested in the history of Sogdiana and ancient Samarkand should not miss it. Gur Emir Mausoleum (XV century)– authentic shrine of Tamerlane. This majestic complex consisted of a khanaka, the madrasah of Muhammad Sultan – grandson of Amir Timur, and, later, tombs of Amir Timur himself and his descendants. Gur Emir was a prototype for famous samples of architecture of the Great Mughal: Humayun Mausoleum in Delhi and the Taj Mahal in Agra, built by Timur descendants, who ruled northern India. Registan Square (XV-XVII centuries) – For centuries it was the center of Samarkand. The word Registan means “sand place”. The ensemble consists of three Madrassah: Ulugbek Madrassah (15th century), Sher–Dor Madrassah (17th century), and Tilla-Kari Madrassah (gold-covered) (17th century). Bibi Khanum Mosque (1399-1404) – The majestic blue domes of the Bibi-Khanym Mosque are an unusual sight. It takes one’s breath even to understand the scale of construction of this monument, impressing by its size and beauty. In antiquity, the dome of this mosque was compared with the dome of heaven and the arch of the portal – with the Milky Way. Siyob Bazaar (on Mondays it’s closed) – is the largest trading center of Samarkand. Mostly here you can find national bread, fruits, vegetables, sweets, and a lot more. Day 3: Samarkand

Oriental carpet factory You can find luxury handmade sozanis, carpets, and more. Run by the family of Haji Mohammad Ewaz Badghisi, who dedicated three centuries to rug weaving. Today, Zainab Badghisi, the daughter, continues the family legacy, showcasing their expertise, infectious energy, and encyclopedic knowledge. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage as you delve into the raw materials and natural dyes sourced locally, meticulously painted onto the threads, ensuring each hue is unique and vibrant. During the Exploring the shop, where an exquisite array of silk carpets, clothing, scarves, suzanis and charming souvenirs await. Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis (XIV-XV centuries) – consists of rows of refined sparkling blue colors tombs. Shakhi Zinda consists of eleven mausoleums, which were built one after another in the XIV-XV centuries. Shakhi Zinda is the burial place of royal persons and nobles. But the main mausoleum from which the necropolis starts seems to be the imaginary grave of Prophet Muhammad’s cousin, Kusama Ibn Abbas. The complex was called “Shakhi Zinda” which means in Persian “The Living King”. Ulugbek Observatory (1428-1429) – The astronomical miracle of medieval Uzbekistan. The observatory was a unique construction for its time. The basis of the observatory was a giant goniometer vertical circle), the radius of the circle was equal to 40,212 meters, and the length of the arc was 63 meters, Lunch. Konigil village is located 13 km from Samarkand. In the times of the Great Silk Road, there were many caravanserais here, but with its decline, the area fell into decay. However, thanks to the efforts of the Mukhtarov brothers, a once neglected 800 m territory turned into a country handicrafts center, at the same time providing jobs for suburban residents. Day 4: Tashkent

At 9:00 am meet with your guide at the lobby of the hotel. Start sightseeing Tashkent from the old part of the city with: Khast-Imam Complex (XVI-XXI century) where the world-famous Quran (VII century) of Caliph Uthman – Ottoman has been preserved. In Khast-Imam visit the Madrasah of Barak-Khan, Tilla Sheikh Mosque, Mausoleum of the Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi, and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Chor-Su Bazaar, the age of which is more than a hundred years. Lunch. Tashkent Metro (1977) Ride – is the only currently operating metro in Central Asia. Independence Square– located in the center of Tashkent city. It is a favorite resting place for the Tashkent residents. The fact that the most beautiful fountains of the city are located in the square contributed considerably to it. Amir Temur Square – surrounded by the buildings of the “Uzbekistan” Hotel, University of Law (former Women’s Gymnasium), the Amir Timur Museum, well-known Tashkent Chimes, and the Forums Palace – one of the most grandiose architectural structures in Tashkent. Amir Temur Museum (2006) – has collected more than three thousand exhibits that tell about the ancient history of our region. Among them, there are paintings, historical documents that relate to the life and activity of Amir Timur, unique manuscripts, weapons, old clothes, utensils, and various coins. Overnight at the hotel. Tashkent City Park: City of the Future We will start exploring the city from its modern part - we will go to Tashkent City. Here the capital of Uzbekistan will appear before you as a real metropolis of Central Asia with a park, a singing fountain, a Hilton hotel and restaurants. Day 5: Tashkent

At 9:00 am meet with your guide at the lobby of the hotel. Continue sightseeing Tashkent from the old part of the city with: Abulkosim Sheikh Madrasah. It was named after the Tashkent Khan Abulkosim, who lived in the 18th century. He was a great intellectual, a very respected and popular sheikh among the people. Abulkosim spent 30 thousand gold rubles on the construction of this madrasah, and then, until his death in 1892, he annually paid for the education of 150 students, among whom the famous Uzbek poet Abdullah Kadiri studied. State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan - cultural, educational, scientific institution; The first art museum in Central Asia. Founded in 1918 in Tashkent as a museum of the People's University. The museum fund has more than 50,000 exhibits (2005), the number of visitors exceeds 250,000 per year. The museum has departments of folk arts of Uzbekistan, fine arts of Uzbekistan, Russian art, art of Western Europe, art of the peoples of the Orient, a treasury, a repair shop, a photo laboratory and a lecture hall. Manuscripts institute. The Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in 1943 on the basis of the Oriental Department of the State Public Library of Uzbekistan. The manuscripts fund of the institute is one of the rarest spiritual treasures in the world. There are 26,000 volumes of manuscripts, 39,000 volumes of lithographic books and about 10,000 historical documents, calligraphy samples, and miniature collections in six departments. They are the primary sources for studying the history, culture, literature and sciences of Central Asia and the foreign peoples of the East. In 2000, the manuscript collection of the Institute of Oriental Studies under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan was listed in the UNESCO Memory of the World program as one of the richest manuscript repositories in the world. Tashkent TV Tower is the tallest structure in Central Asia. Its height is 375 meters, and weight is about 6000 tons. In height it is on the 11th place in the world.
