Encircled by the snow-capped Pir Panjal mountains and ravishing green meadows, Patnitop is one of the most beautiful and tranquil hill stations to visit in Jammu. Not only is Patnitop home to surreal sightseeing spots Nathatop, Sanasar Lake and Baglihar Dam, and a major paragliding and skiing destination of India. It is believed that Mata Vaishno Devi, who was also known as Trikuta observed the ‘Navratra’, to pray for the victory of Lord Rama against Ravana. It is also said that Lord Rama also ensured her that the entire world would sing her praises and revere her as Mata Vaishno Devi.
Arriva Jammu airport and get transferred to Katra. Check in to Hotel and later day at leisure to explore the city of Katra on the own. Overnight at Katra.
After breakfast proceed for Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan - one of the most popular pilgrimage of India, situated in the lap of Trikuta mountains across Katra town, at an altitude of around 5,200 feet. Yatra involves a trek of nearly 14 kilometers from base camp at Katra known as Ban Ganga. Alternate way to perform darshans is by battery operated cars, ponies/palkis/ helicopters. If time permits, visit Ardhkuwari & Bhairo Temple, now you can go by ropeway from Vaishno Devi Bhavan to Bhairon temple. After visiting the temples, return back to the hotel in Katra . Overnight in Katra.
After breakfast check out from Katra and drive to Patnitop, the only hill station of Jammu district. On arrival, check into your hotel. Patnitop is a distortion of the original name of “Patan Da Talab” meaning “Pond of the Princess”. In olden times a pond existed in the meadows and the king’s princess often used to have her bath there. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the nearby areas on foot or pony back (on direct payment). Overnight in Patnitop.
Post breakfast checkout and get transferred to Jammu station or airport for return or onward journey.
